The Embassy of Italy is pleased to announce the introduction of the new procedures for visa submission. Starting the 2nd of April 2012, Indonesian nationals and foreign nationals who require a visa, residing in Indonesia, should submit their visa applications in person (by appointment) to the ITALY-VISA APPLICATION CENTER managed by the VFS Global, from Mondays to Fridays, starting from 08:00 to 15:00, at the following address:

VFS is a privately-run service company, authorized by this Embassy to receive visa applications and is bound by the rules of data protection in force in Italy. However, any assessment and decision on each single visa issuance is taken by the Embassy only.


The family members (husband/wife/children) of citizens of the European Union, or of Switzerland, are allowed to directly submit their application to the Visa Office of the Embassy of Italy, from Monday to Thursday between 11.00 -12.00, without having to request an appointment. Please ensure that you have all the documents that prove your family relationship in hand.

The same rule applies also for applicants who need to apply for the folllowing visa categories :

        -          Family Reunion to foreign nationals residing legally in Italy

-          Subordinate work

-          Diplomatic Visa

 Applicant for STUDY visa has to obtain the appointment through this website

The application form, Invitation Letter form, Visa Fees, e the list of the required documents to be submitted for every visa category can be downloaded from the website of the Visa Application Center.

The Embassy reserves the rights to ask for further supporting documents other than those specified and the submission of a visa application with a complete documentation does not imply the issuance of a visa.


It is advisable that the applicants submit their visa application in sufficient time (at least two weeks prior to the scheduled departure). It will generally take 4-7 working days at the earliest to obtain the visa, however, in certain periods of the year and due the type of visa requested, this visa processing time could also take longer.
