CONCERTO: A TRIBUTE TO GIACOMO PUCCINI
2024 marks the centenary of the passing of Maestro Giacomo Puccini, an opportunity to honor his artistic legacy and celebrate the cultural ties between our nations. The celebration includes two concerts held in September: the first in Jakarta with the Jakarta Simfonia Orchestra and the Jakarta Oratorio Society, followed by a performance in Yogyakarta with the Yogyakarta Royal Orchestra. Under the baton of Margherita Colombo, featuring soprano Carmen Lopez and tenor Alessandro Fantoni, these concerts highlight the power of music to unite people and cultures in a timeless dialogue.
MOSAICO | CODICE ITALICO DI UN’ARTE SENZA TEMPO
Great success in Jakarta for the exhibition “Mosaico: Italic Code of a Timeless Art”, funded by the 2024 integrated promotion program. Concluding on August 28 at the Ciputra Artpreneur Gallery, it reaffirmed Indonesia’s strong interest in Italian culture, receiving extensive media coverage. Organized by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute, the exhibition, inaugurated on August 6, celebrated the 75th anniversary of Italy-Indonesia diplomatic relations. Produced by MAECI and curated by Magister Art, it was the third Asian stop after Hanoi and Bangkok. The multimedia exhibition traced 2000 years of mosaic history, a symbol of Italian artistry, showcasing works from Rome, Pompeii, Ravenna, Palermo, and Baia. Through an immersive and interactive experience, visitors explored symbols and techniques via illuminated panels, audio guides, and a multilingual app, attracting over 5500 visitors in just 23 days. A comprehensive promotional campaign and additional activities coordinated by the Italian Cultural Institute further strengthened the event’s success, making it a major cultural milestone.
