The Italian Embassy in Jakarta represents Italy in Indonesia, Timor Leste and the ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) Secretariat.
The Head of Mission is Ambassador (Designate) Roberto Colamine`.
According to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 18 April 1961, the functions of the Embassy are, among others, to:
- To protect the interests of Italy and its citizens, within the limits allowed by international law;
- To negotiate with the government of Indonesia and Timor Leste;
- To inform, by any lawful means, of the conditions and evolution of events in Indonesia and Timor Leste and report to the Italian State;
- To promote friendly relations and develop economic, cultural and scientific relations between Italy and Indonesia and between Italy and Timor Leste.
Through its Consular section, the Italian Embassy in Jakarta also provides a range of consular services to Italian and foreign citizens residing in the territory of its constituency.
