Exhibition ITALY: THE BEAUTY OF KNOWLEDGE

Jakarta, 5 March 2019 – His Excellency Mr Vittorio Sandalli, Ambassador of Italy to the Republic of Indonesia, together with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Mr Abdurrahman Muhammad Fachir, officially inaugurated the exhibition ‘Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge’ at the National Museum, Jakarta. The exhibition, open to the public until 31 March 2019, will showcase Italy’s scientific prowess and advanced technology in the fields of Health, Environment, Space, Food and Nutrition, and Cultural Heritage.

Ambassador Vittorio Sandalli said: “The year 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations between the Republic of Italy and the Republic of Indonesia. To celebrate this important occasion, the Embassy of Italy has conceived a series of initiatives that will take place throughout the year and that will start with the exhibition ‘Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge’. Here at the National Museum of Indonesia, we are proud to present to you the contributions of Italian research and innovation to the creation of new possibilities for an enhanced social well being and awareness, both locally and globally.”

‘Italy: the Beauty of Knowledge’ is an installation promoted and financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and coordinated by the National Research Council, along with the contribution of the four main Italian science museums: Fondazione Idis – Città della Scienza in Naples, Museo Galileo Galilei in Florence, Museo delle Scienze – Muse in Trento, and Museo Nazionale della Scienza e della Tecnologia Leonardo da Vinci in Milan. It offers an emotionally engaging experience and an intriguing opportunity to learn about the excellence of research in science and technology conducted in Italy.
