Discover “Italian Museums,” the application by the Ministry of Culture that provides users with information on cultural sites within the national museum system and allows for the purchase of entrance tickets!
The application offers information in English and Italian on 406 Italian museums and archaeological parks, geo-locating their positions relative to the visitor, and providing access to a digital ticketing platform without intermediary costs for sites that did not previously offer this service.
Available for free on major platforms, the tool has been tested over the past year in a growing number of museums, starting with the ticketing for entry to the Pantheon. To date, it has been used to issue over 3 million tickets.
It will be progressively extended to all state public museums and made available for cultural sites administered by local authorities, universities, dioceses, or privately owned institutions, with the aim of making it the primary portal for accessing the network of nearly 4,900 Italian museums.
