During the 21st meeting of the Emergency Committee under the International Health Regulations (IHR) regarding the international spread of poliovirus, that took place on 14 May 2019 at WHO headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland), the Emergency Committee reviewed the data on wild poliovirus (WPV1) and circulating vaccine derived polioviruses (cVDPV) and the Secretariat presented a report of progress for affected IHR States Parties subject to Temporary Recommendations.
The Committee unanimously agreed that the risk of international spread of poliovirus remains a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and recommended the extension of Temporary Recommendations to a number of Countries. Indonesia (most recent detection 13 February 2019) was included in the list as a Country infected with cVDPV1 with potential risk of international spread.
Based on these Recommendations and implementing a specific advise issued by the Italian Ministry of Health, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has instructed the Embassy of Italy in Jakarta to require that Visa applicants in Indonesia (residents and people who have stayed in the Country for a period longer than 4 weeks) produce, in addition to the other documents, an International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis attesting that they have received a dose of polio vaccine between 4 weeks and 12 months prior to their planned departure.
Therefore, please be advised that, starting from 1 October 2019, no Visa applications will be accepted without the presentation of the afore-mentioned certificate.

PERSYARATAN BARU UNTUK PEMOHON VISA
Selama pertemuan ke 21 dari Komite Darurat yang bernaung di bawah International Health Regulations (IHR) mengenai penyebaran internasional dari virus polio, yang diadakan pada tanggal 14 Mei 2019 di kantor pusat WHO (Swiss), Komite Darurat meninjau data mengenai virus “wild poliovirus” (WPV1) dan circulating vaccine derived polioviruses (cVDPV), dan Sekretariat menyampaikan sebuah laporan mengenai negara-negara anggota IHR yang terdampak dari Rekomendasi Sementara.
Komite telah menyetujui secara bulat bahwa resiko penyebaran internasional dari poliovirus akan tetap menjadi “Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) dan merekomendasikan perpanjangan dari Rekomendasi Sementara ke beberapa negara. Indonesia (data deteksi terbaru: 13 Pebruari 2019), telah dimasukkan ke dalam daftar negara yang terjangkit CVDPV1 dengan potensi resiko penyebaran internasional.
Berdasarkan rekomendasi-rekomendasi ini dan dalam rangka penerapan anjuran khusus yang dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Kesehatan Italia, Kementerian Luar Negeri dan Kerjasama Internasional telah mengeluarkan instruksi kepada Kedutaan Besar Italia untuk mensyaratkan agar pemohon visa di Indonesia (yang telah tinggal di negara ini paling tidak 4 minggu), melengkapi permohonan visanya, selain dengan dokumen pendukung yang diminta, juga dengan “International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis” yang menyatakan bahwa pemohon visa telah menerima dosis vaksin polio antara 4 minggu sampai 12 bulan sebelum rencana keberangkatan mereka.
Dengan demikian, mohon menjadi perhatian bahwa mulai 1 Oktober 2019, permohonan visa tidak dapat diterima tanpa kelengkapan sertifikat vaksin di atas.
